The gem thing is actually what I'm most unsure about, I'm mostly worried that it'll be a clear cut choice which is best. There also seems to be a strong emphasis on gems getting you in and stopping space control, which makes me worried that the game will be pretty much exclusively focused around rushdown like SFV and not leave viable/good options for space control/zoning.

Considering its 2v2 nature and options that allow you to tag in characters while someone is doing a special move leads me to believe that it will still remain rushdown heavy game.  But I'm sure Capcom in all of their infinite wisdom will at least do a honest job of trying to add balance (no matter how obscene it maybe) to other playstyles so it's not just a rushdown style game.

But traditionally, Marvel style games have been pretty heavy on rushdown just in general.

Time confirmed top tier gem. Never in the history of Capcom fighters, has there been a custom combo mechanic not be broken.

Yeah just ask him to bring some monitors, it's easier that way and we can get some consoles there for sure.

Hey dudes, we could definitely use some setups, there is room for about 4-5 over there, i can have michael from SGA bring monitors if you'd prefer not to bring yours

What would an NM-ISM anniversary event be without some New Mexico classic favorites? We're happy to announce that the final two games of The 5th are Windjammers and Capcom vs SNK 2 -- plus CVS2 will have a $100 pot bonus!

Your optimism gives me hope brother. As I said  my impressions are wild conjecture.

Capcom are the experts, and they've been good stewards of the series.

So my fears, Is probably just paranoia. It's easy to get worried, with the games you love so much.
I'm most interested to hear what NM players think of the game when they try it out at EVO. That'll be a big decider in how I view it before release.
